Hey Reader,
We’ve all been pulled in ten different directions in the sea of email marketing advice and somehow left wondering what actually works for us.
This week, I want you to meet Maria Malaniia, who makes email marketing feel a lot less mysterious and a lot more doable.
Maria started her career in hospitality, creating guest experiences for luxury hotel brands across Europe. Now she brings that same concierge approach to email marketing with a simple rule of thumb: treat your subscribers like guests, not just a list of email addresses.
When I asked Maria about her approach, she said:
“It all comes down to creating memorable experiences that keep your subscribers wanting more.”
Maria started her business in January 2021, after being made redundant during the pandemic. In her own words, she was “new, naive and green when it came to business.” But three breakthroughs helped her feel truly in charge: connecting with other business owners, figuring out how she works best on her own, and focusing her work on email marketing for event organisers.
Behind the scenes, she’s building a recurring revenue stream that doesn’t require daily maintenance, slowly creating more space for herself — so she can spend more time on hobbies and interests like sports, crochet, and crafts, as she did before becoming a parent.
You’ll meet Maria in Week 6, where she’ll show you how to grow your email list, keep your audience engaged, and build trust with the people who are already paying attention — all without overcomplicating email marketing.
I’ve had an email marketing session with Maria before. She asks questions that make the next step obvious and has a way of making marketing feel calmer.
If you’re craving calmer marketing and clearer next steps, you’ll fit right in at Slow Summer Club. After all, it’s for people who want marketing to feel simpler and summer to feel lighter.
We start on Thursday, 16 April.
Doors close on Friday, 10 April.
