Meet Emma, the social media strategist who believes in playing the long game…

Slow Summer Club kicks off on 16 April — only 6 weeks left.

It only runs once a year, and we have limited spaces. If you’ve been thinking about joining, now’s the time.

Hey Reader,

This week, I want you to meet someone who’ll help you figure out how to show up on social media in a way that actually works for your business.

Emma Jamieson is a social media strategist with 14 years of experience across film, higher education, hospitality, and travel. With an analytical, creative approach, she helps brands cut through the noise and build social media strategies that drive results.

Emma went fully freelance in 2022. She didn’t have savings or a long-term plan. All she had was a three-month contract with a film festival and the gut feeling that if she didn’t take the plunge, she’d regret it forever.

When I asked Emma what solo bossing means to her, she said:

"Being a solo boss means working according to a rhythm that makes sense to me."

And she takes protecting her time seriously. She’s ruthless with her out-of-office settings and has one offline day a week where the laptop stays shut. As she puts it:

“The world would need to be actually on fire before I break that rule.”

Give her a slow summer and she’d fill it with travelling and art classes (and perhaps watching more movies and talking about them on Reeling & Dealing).

You’ll meet Emma in Week 5, where she’ll join our Social Media Fireside Chat alongside Sophie Maulevrier and Sarah Titchmarsh. She will make the case for why consistency beats virality, and how showing up regularly, experimenting, and participating all compound over time.

If you’ve been unsure where to focus your social media efforts, our fireside chat will help you figure out which platforms deserve your time and how to show up on them.

Join the Slow Summer Club today to save your spot.

See you on the other side?

Merve
